Legitimate power is the most sacred : President Yameen
President Yameen have said that the most sacred should be legitimate power, but the politicians in Maldives have a hard time in accepting this. President made this statement last night while speaking at the ceremony held to mark the national republic day.

“Because of our political views, we cannot see further than 1 feet. The politicians cannot accept that the most sacred would be implementing rule of law” said the President.

President said that having different political views is not a problem but these differences should be narrowed. In addition, he said that no matter who commits a crime, that person will be punished. President said that, when someone is punished, they cannot be pardoned by the president. He said that no one should consider that punishments are given by the government.

President said that everyone should be more connected with each other keeping the political differences aside. In addition, he said that today bridges are needed between people and not only between Hulhumale and Male. President said that the government works hard for the best interest of the nation. He said that, by doing that, the people of the country will benefit.

President said that many people expressed concerns when Maldives left Commonwealth. He said that it was not an easy decision for him either. President said that he will never allow foreign parties to interfere with internal matters of Maldives.
