Environment Thoriq Ibrahim have said that Maldives will take lead in raising funds for small island nations that are at risk due to climate change.
Speaking to the press before departing to Morocco to participate in COP 22 summit, Thoriq said that they will try to get funds via rich countries so that small island nations can mitigate from natural disasters due to climate change.
Minister said that in this summit, they will discuss on how to achieve the targets set in the Paris agreement.
Recently Maldives got elected as the chair of AOSIS, Alliance of Small Island States for two more years. Minister said that a ministerial meeting of AOSIS will be held on the sidelines of COP 22.
