Maldives has taken part in the largest travel and tourism fair in Asia.
The fair is being held in Shanghai, China. Maldives is participating under the slogan “ Maldives : Sunny side of life”.
In this fair, 52 people from 23 companies of Maldives are taking part, promoting various tourism related products and services.
The most senior delegates from Maldives are Deputy Tourism Minister Shazaail Shiyaam, and MD of MMPRC Haaris Mohammed.
This fair is organized by the National Tourism Administration of China, Civil Aviation Administration of China and the municipal government of Shanghai ever year.
The fair started yesterday and will go on till 13th of November at the New International Expo Center of Shanghai. More than 2500 people from the travel and tourism industry are taking part in the fair.
It is expected that more than 10,000 people will visit the fair and this will be a good opportunity to promote the tourism industry of Maldives. Even now, Chinese tourists account for 27.5 percent of tourist arrivals in Maldives. By September of this year 259,679 Chinese tourists visited Maldives.
