President Yameen Abdul Gayyom have said that he wants developmental projects all over Maldives to be carried out at the speed of a running deer.
He made this statement while speaking at a rally held by PPM in R.Dhuvaafaru last night. He said that now the government cannot work at a pace that of an old bear.
He said that by the speed the world is being developed, Maldives cannot risk staying behind. President said that hence, projects that took years to complete are now being completed within a short period. President said that if Maldives develop slowly compared to the rest of the world, Maldives will be left behind. He said that he does not want this and wants to go after these countries and “hunt” them.
He said that if projects are to be completed at a fast rate, the proposed budget by the government should be approved as soon as possible. He said that if not, it will be difficult to complete these projects. In addition, he said that the vision for development should not be set for 5 years and his team has a long term vision.
