President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom have said that his government has successfully achieved the targets set in the manifesto of PPM, even though the opposition made fun of it when they first proposed it.
Speaking at a rally held by PPM at R.Ungoofaaru last night, President said that many people criticized saying that the targets in PPM manifesto are unachievable. He said that most of the targets in the manifesto has been achieved with the will of Allah.
He further said that now, the people do not desire simple things and they want things like water, harbors and land reclamation. He said that the people hope for mega projects like airport development.
In addition, he said that within two years of his presidency, all the islands in Maldives had some developmental project. He said that because the people have accepted these projects, it is a “rose” revolution to the country. He said that this government is reclaiming land within 7 weeks which took years to reclaim before.
President said that the people have accepted the development brought by his government and that can be evident from the high turnout of rallies held by PPM.
