Allia Construction contracted to develop a 100-bed hospital in Addu City
Allia Construction has been contracted to developed a 100-bed hospital in Addu City. The Equatorial Convention Center in Addu City will be developed into a hospital.

At a ceremony held at Housing Ministry today to sign the contract, Housing Minister Dr.Muhammad Muizzu said that 4 companies proposed bids for the project. He said that Allia was awarded with the project because they proposed the lowest price and also the financers of the projects accepted to offer the contract to Allia.


Dr.Muizzu said that 161.9 million Rufiyaa will be spent on the project and the project is financed by Saudi Fund and OFID. He further said that the project will be completed within 18 months and the hospital will be open by May 2018.

In addition, he said that government decided to change ECC into a hospital after conducting engineering surveys. He said that the government wants to make ECC a useful place because at the moment it is useless to the people of Addu City. Under this project, the main hall of the building will be changed into a two storied building.

Dr. Muizzu said that they will complete the other required works to provide medical facilities at the hospital as the construction work completes.
