A diamondback squid has been caught in Maldives for the first time. Fisheries Minister Dr.Muhammad Shainee tweeted saying that experimental fishing to diversify fisheries in Maldives is becoming a success.
Dr.Shainee said that the squid was caught near Thulusdhoo. He said that using new fishing gear technology is a great success. Fisheries ministry is doing a lot of work to take the Maldivian fishing industry to a whole new level.
Even now sea-cucumber breeding projects have been started in two islands and President Yameen have said that next year the government will start projects to breed baits used in fishing.
