MP for Funadhoo constituency Ali Saleem have said that those who try to ‘sell’ the country to foreigners does not have the right to speak on behalf of the people.
Speaking about the budget in the parliament, Saleem said that the government wants to provide equal opportunities to everyone but there are some differences because the opposition tries to halt development and much needed financing for developmental projects.
Saleem said that the people have to ‘beg’ now because of the destructive 3 year government of MDP. He said that in that three years nothing was done for the development of the nation. In addition he said that every year the opposition members claim that there is nothing for their constituencies in the budget, but the reality is that there are developmental projects going on all islands of Maldives.
He said that if we look at the past three years, what we can see is that the people being involved in various works and living happily. Furthermore, he said that if the President makes any pledge, the president will fulfil it within 5 years. He said that this government does not put ‘little’ things in the budget.
