Leader of JP, Qasim Ibrahim have said that the Senior Citizens of the country should always talk about the economy of the country in such a way that the investors will not lose their confidence in investing in Maldives.
Speaking at the parliament session today, Qasim said that there are few reasons why investors are interesting in Maldives and if we lose these reasons, investors will not have interest in investing in Maldives.
Qasim said that he is ready to pay income tax even now. He said that however, government should consider the impact it will have on the mindset of the investors if government decides to take income tax.
Qasim further said that it is not true that the government does not get any revenue from sales of islands for resort development. He said that all the companies have to pay 15 percent as profit tax to the state. He requested everyone should refrain from misinforming the public and investors.
Qasim said that if the investors are unable to sell the resorts developed in Maldives, it will also decrease the interest of investors in Maldives.
