People of Hulhumeedhoo protests against Rozaina !

People of Hulhumeedhoo have protested Rozaina yesterday, for standing in the way of development and progress to Hulhumeedhoo.

One major issue identified by the protestors was that, Rozaina was not in support of making a waterway at the end of Meedhoo.

Protestors said that a waterway should be made on that side and that will reduce the distance for fishermen, and travelers to Fuvahmulah. In addition, the protestors said that because there is no channel, a lot of money is being wasted on fuel every day and a channel would save this money and time of travel.

The protestors signed a petition, asking to make a channel there and submitted the petition to the CEO of MPL Muhammad Junaid. It has been a long-time dream of Hulhumeedhoo citizens to make a waterway at the end of Meedhoo. Various governments promised to do it but so far it has not been done.

Speaking at the ceremony which inaugurated bus services in Hulhumeedhoo, CEO of MPL Muhammad Junaid said that they will create the water way. Junaid said that the project will be done as a CSR project of MPL.
