Members elected for the 7 vacant positions in JP council

Members have been elected for the 7 vacant positions in JP council.

The 7 members were elected in a council meeting held yesterday afternoon. The newly elected members are, Aishath Shereen, Mohammed Mukhuthaar, Ali Solih, Mohammed Nadheem, Dr.Shaafee Abdul-Munnim, Ibrahim Hassan and Ahmed Sunil.

Fifteen members contested for these positions. In the first round of voting, 3 members got equal number of votes for the 7th position and a second round of voting was held to break the tie.

In addition, Dr.Ahmed Asim (former education minister) was elected as the president of party’s foreign council and Ali Hassan (Thohdhoo Alibe) was elected as the president of party’s sports council.

The council meeting which was held at M.Kunooz yesterday was chaired by the leader of Jumuhoory Party Honorable Qasim Ibrahim.

The party informed that soon they will have elections to elect their Women’s League and other council members.
