Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu have said that this government has completed 30 harbors within 3 years and 46 harbors are being under under construction at the moment including the Filladhoo harbor which was contracted today.
Speaking to the press at Housing Ministry, Dr.Muizzu said if we compare the past three years to the whole history of Maldives, we can see that most number of developmental projects were carried out in these 3 years. He said that most number of projects were initiated and completed in these three years compared to the past.
Even though the harbor construction projects in Maldives started 35 years ago, till today only few islands have harbors. Also the harbors that were constructed were very low in quality and these do not last so long. Hence even the existing harbors in need of repair.
Housing Ministry said that since the harbors constructed by this government are extremely good in quality it will last for a long time.
