410 million Rufiyaa has been invested in the last 3 years : Ziyath
CEO of Maldives Transport and Company MTCC Ibrahim Ziyath have said that the past three years were the most successful three years for the company and that the company has invested 410 million Rufiyaa as capital investments alone during the period.

Speaking at an event held this afternoon, to celebrate 3-year anniversary of President Yameen’s government Ziyath said that the past three years were the most profitable years in the history of the company. He said that 410 million Rufiyaa was invested in addition to the investment for the heavy dredger.

Ziyath further said that they have achieved a lot of progress in the ferry services as well which is an unprofitable public service. “ MTCC is providing ferry services in 5 zones. We introduced premier ferries and double decker ferries” said Ziyath.

He also said that the installment scheme they introduced to provide engines at an affordable price to boatmen is also a huge success.

“Even now we are conducting 56 projects worth 2.1 billion Rufiyaa. We have completed many projects as well” said Ziyath.

Speaking as a shareholder of MTCC Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer said that the profits of MTCC tripled in three years and that is a huge achievement.

He further said that MTCC is very connected to the people and the dredger that is planned to be brought by MTCC is also related to the people very much. “ Because of that we will be able to dredge land for the housing and for investments at a very much cheaper cost” said Zameer.

In addition, he said that the goods imported by MTCC is very much related to the people and a lot of people benefit because these goods are sold at affordable prices.
