A lot of people believe that, action should be taken against all those who took part in handing over Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to GMR. One of those people is the consultant sent by AFC to Maldives during that time.
The consultant should explain why she convinced Maldivians authorities that the GMR agreement was beneficial to Maldives. If she is unable to explain why she gave the consultation, action should be taken against her.
The consultant was smiling from ear to ear during the bid awarding ceremony held at Finance Ministry and even during the ceremony held at the President’s office to sign the contract. The 271 million dollar Maldives lost is enough money to develop a second runway. However, even if it drained MACL’s budget getting back the airport is something that should be written in golden letters in our history books.
