Biggest aim is to improve quality and become financially independent: Dr.Shaheem
Dr.Muhammad Shaheem Ali Saeed the Chancellor of Islamic University have said that their biggest target for next year is to improve the quality of education and to become financially selfsufficient.

Speaking at the religious scholar’s conference organized by IUM, Dr.Shaheem said that even now the university has formed a fund and that have 6 million Rufiyaa in the fund. “We plan to make find our own ways of finding income. We have plan to invest in capital markets, invest in business and also to develop own investments. The aim is to make the university financially independent.” Said Dr.Shaheem.

In addition, he said that, they plan to get aid from Islamic Bank, friendly nations, OIC and Islamic banks to enrich the fund. “Even now we have signed an agreement with Islamic Bank of Maldives. The CEO of the bank is here. I thank Al Haaris Haroon from the bottom of my heart. Next year we will form a strategy to prevent the university from progressing due to lack of funds. The Islamic University legislation allows us to do this. “said Dr.Shaheem.

Dr.Shaheem said that the pride of each nation is the nation’s universities and it is of utmost importance to government to maintain the dignity of the universities. Dr.Shaheem said that he will continue to do everything he can to improve the capacity of Islamic University.
