Religious Scholar’s conference which is organized by the Islamic University of Maldives has begun today. Various religious scholars and others have taken part in the conference.
The conference was officially inaugurated by Vice President Abdullah Jihaad this morning. The purpose of this conference is to debate on how a pluralistic society can progress in harmony.
Participants from Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Malaysia, and Pakistan are taking part in the conference. In addition, famous scholars like Mufti Ismail Moosa Menk is also taking part in the conference.
Speaking at the conference Chancellor of Islamic University Dr. Muhammad ShaheemAli Saeed said that the only civilization that will retain in the world is Islamic civilization. He further said that knowledge will benefit you even after you die.
He spoke about the importance of translating knowledge from one language to the other. He said that if humans are not able to work in this manner, humanity will face a huge challenge. Dr.Shaheem also talked about the importance of debating and researching to get good results. “All conferences like this, provide a lot of benefits” said Dr.Shaheem.
Dr.Shaheem assured that Maldives Islamic University will always welcome any endeavor that promotes knowledge and education.
