Vice President Abdullah Jihad have said that the highest priority for Maldives is Islamic education and Islamic economy. Jihaad made this statement while speaking to a group of scholars at Islamic University of Maldives during a visit to the university to inaugurate the conference of religious scholars organized by Islamic University.
Speaking at the conference Jihaad said that even President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has revealed that his highest priority is Islamic education and Islamic finance. Furthermore, Jihaad said that the President noted the importance of doing more research to find ways to promote religion and other areas in Maldives.
He said that Maldives has a lot of academic work to promote the religion and Islamic University is one institution that is involved in this work with best performance. Vice President assured that the government will always provide assistance to Islamic University.
