Parliament decides to remove MP Waheed from clemency board
Parliament has decided to counsel president asking to remove MP for Thulusdhoo constituency Mohamed Waheed from clemency board.

Out of the 67 members who voted, 41 members voted to remove Waheed. One member did not vote either way while 26 people voted to keep Waheed in the position.

The report presented to the national security committee of Parliament says that, the Parliament decided to remove Waheed from Clemency board because, Waheed has failed to do his responsibilities as a member of the board and thus the parliament believes that the parliament is not being represented in the Clemency board adequately.

Waheed said that, even though he takes part in the board meetings, he does not get the right to talk in the board. He also says that, if his removal due to his continued absence, then it is important to check how many times the President of the Board, AG Anil was present in board meetings.

The motion to remove Waheed from clemency board was proposed by MP for Kelaa Ali Arif.
