Sun Siyam Irufushi has won the “leading wellness and Spa resort” award in the Maldives Travel Awards given by Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO).
The resort was given the award in a ceremony held in Olhuvelhi Beach Resort last night. This is the most prestigious award given in the Maldivian tourism industry. Irufushi won this award after competing with Dusitani Maldives and Anantara Velia.
In addition, other resorts owned by Sun group also won awards. Sun Siyam also won a lifetime achievement award. Furthermore, his group won the award for assisting Maldivian tour groups the most.
In the ceremony held at Olhuveli Resort, 246 resorts competed for 35 different categories.
