Three foreigners sentenced to 10 years in jail for human trafficking
Criminal Court of the Maldives has sentenced three foreigners for 10 years in jail for human trafficking. The three individuals are from Bangladesh. They are Md Saim Molla 38, Abdul Malaku 32, and Baadshah 46.

These three people were convicted of human trafficking after they were prosecuted for bringing a Bangladeshi woman to Maldives in 2013. Criminal Court’s verdict says that the investigation proves that these three men were involved in human trafficking.

They were sentenced under article 12 of anti-trafficking legislation for 10 years in prison. This is the first ever sentence under this legislation.
