The Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation Boasts Brighter Prospects
On 27th October, 2016, the Sixth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC in short, the ruling party of China) was successfully concluded. Given the important outcomes the Session generated, the CPC will strengthen political life within the Party, promote strict Party governance in a comprehensive way, closely unite around its Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core and usher in the new Long March to realize the Chinese Dream.
Firstly, the Session recognized the core status of President Xi Jinping, who is also General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and officially put forward “the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the core”. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Xi has led the Party and the people in breaking new grounds in the great cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and the Party and in making significant achievements in areas such as reform, development and stability, domestic affairs, foreign affairs and national security, governance of the Party, State and the Army. General Secretary Xi Jinping has won the heartfelt support of all the Party and the people and received high praise from the international community.
“The CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the core” reflects the common wish of the Party as well as the people. Xi Jinping deserves to be regarded as the core of the CPC Central Committee and the Party, as it has been proved by the practices. With the identification of its new core, the CPC will closely united around General Secretary Xi Jinping and come up with greater unity and strength to lead China’s accelerated peaceful development.
Secondly, the Session deliberated and approved two documents on the discipline of the Party, including the norms of political life within the Party under the new situation and a regulation on intra-Party supervision, moves that showcased the CPC Central Committee’s strong resolve and commitment in practicing comprehensive and strict governance of the Party. The two documents serves to further strengthen intra-Party discipline and lend a hand to building clean politics and opposing corruption.
Thirdly, the Session decided to hold the 19th CPC National Congress in the second half of 2017, which is a major event in the political life of the Party and the state. Secretary General Xi Jinping will deliver a report at the 19th CPC National Congress, charting the course for the work of the Party and the State in the next phase, which not only concerns the fate and future of China, but also acts as a window for the world to understand China.
Nowadays, there are still lots of challenges and obstacles facing China’s advancement of economic and social development, which requires the CPC to further empower itself.
