President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has ratified the third amendment to the “Religious Unity Act” (Act No. 6/94). The amendment was passed by the Parliament at the 12th sitting of its third session, on 21st November 2016.
Following ratification, the Act has been published in the Government Gazette.
The third amendment to the Religious Unity Act will further strengthen the administration of the Supreme Council for Islamic Fatwa.
