Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed have said that people should support the current government because the progress and development brought by this government is more than that of the last 40 years.
Speaking at a ceremony, held tonight to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the government, Saeed said that this government is not only developing the country but also made the country more independent.
Saeed said that within this term, 50 new resorts will be developed in Maldives and even by the minimal estimates it is 3 billion dollars. He said that the airport alone is another 1 billion dollars. “Which government has brought development worth 4 billion dollars within 5 years” questioned Saeed.
“Recently we paid 271 million dollars to GMR with just one cheque and freed the country. President Yameen has done what everyone said was impossible” said Saeed.
Minister Saeed said that the staffs of MPL can value the development brought by President Yameen. “One indicator of a nations development is the amount of goods imported by the country. MPL staffs will know how much goods we are importing now compared to pre-2013.” Said Saeed.
Saeed said that Maldives does not belong to one particular party. He said that the president should not be from one specific party as well. He said that Presidency should be given to someone who is able to bring development to the country and someone who is honest to the people.
