Managing Director of STO, Ahmed Shaheer have said that the price of cooking gas sold from Maldive Gas a subsidiary company of STO has been decreased twice in the past and will decrease even in future.
Shaheer made this statement, while speaking at a ceremony held last night at Rasfannu to celebrate 3-year anniversary of President Yameen’s government.
Shaheer said that Maldive Gas is working on a project to establish gas plants in south and north of Maldives. He said that the purpose is to provide gas at an affordable rate to everyone.
He also said that STO Fuel Mupply- FSM has started using 3 new carriers. In addition, he said that the capacity to store fuel in Funadhoo is also being increased to double the present Starage. Also he said that, they are working to get a new fuel tanker. “ When we accomplish these things, the price of fuel will be cheaper than now. We can also guarantee fuel security” said Shaheer.
He also said that the new fuel shed in Hulhumale will be completed very soon and they will sell fuel at the same rate as Male’.
In addition, Shaheer said that Allied Insurance Company is going to introduce new products soon. Shaheer also said that soon they will turn MIFCO into profitable company as well. MIFCO was made a subsidiary company of STO just a month ago.
