My duty was to prevent a civil conflict and to stabilize Maldives : President Waheed
Former President Dr.Muhammad Waheed have said that when Nasheed resigned on 7th February 2012, his duty was to prevent a civil conflict and to stabilize Maldives.

Dr.Waheed made this statement while speaking at the ceremony held last night to release his biography. “When Nasheed resigned himself, I had to take his hot seat” said Dr.Waheed.

Dr.Waheed said that the country needed his service twice. He said that the first time was when Nasheed resigned and then the second time was in 2013 when his presidency was about to end.

Dr.Waheed said that both the times he prioritize the country. He said that he worked in the best interest of the people and the country.

The country experienced a lot of turmoil during Dr.Waheed’s administration but he worked hard to protect the sovereignty of the country without regard to foreign pressures. His services will be written in Maldivian history in gold letters.

The book launching ceremony was attended by prominent politicians like JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim.
