A ceremony has been held at Sun Island Resort and Spa for winning awards at Maldives Travel Awards the most prestigious awards given in the Maldivian tourism industry.
This year Sun Island won the “leading eco resort” award for being the most environmental friendly resort. In addition, Sun Island got awards for their spa services and diving facilities. The awards are Leading Spa Award and Leading Dive Center Award.
In addition, Sun Island won some awards from South Asian Tourism Awards as well. They won the leading family resort and leading family resort south Asia award. In addition, they won the leading spa Maldives and leading spa South Asia award. Furthermore, the dive center of Sun Island got the award of leading dive center in South Asia.
The ceremony to celebrate the awards were attended by GM of Sun Island Resort Dr.Abdullah Mausoon and senior staffs of the resort. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr.Mausoom said that more tourists will come to the resort and Maldives because of these awards. He said that the awards are a result of the hard work of the staffs of the resorts. Dr.Mausoom thanked the staffs of Sun Island for their hard work.
This is the second-year Sun Island won the leading eco resort award. This is proof that the resort is achieving their goal of becoming the most environmental friendly resort in the Maldives. In addition, this is a clear indicator of the success of the work done by the resort management and staffs to achieve this goal.
