STO have said that if recovering addicts are able to do well in the job training after recovery, they are willing to offer them permanent jobs.
They made this statement at a ceremony held at STO this morning, to sign an agreement with NDA to provide jobs at STO for 4 recovering addicts.
Speaking at the ceremony, the MD of STO Ahmed Shaheer said that even now they have some recovering addicts working at some departments of STO. He said that in future they will provide more opportunities as well.
In addition, he said that recovering addicts are given job training by STO supervisors and that at first, they have a very light workload. Shaheer noted that some recovering addicts who were trained at STO are working at other companies as well.
Shaheer said that drugs are a social disease and every household in Maldives is suffering from this disease. He said that everyone should work together to get rid of this disease. “I request all companies to assist NDA. Helping recovering addicts to integrate into the society is a social responsibility” said Shaheer.
