Government has denied the accusation made by MP Hussain Areef who said that the government has given Minicoy Channel, the channel between Minicoy and North Thiladhunmathi Atoll to India.
Speaking to the press at the President’s Office Attorney General Muhammad Anil said that the government does not even want to answer to a such a baseless accusation.
He said that, if the government is to give any territory of Maldives to a foreign country, government will have to follow the procedures in the constitution and hence if such a thing was done the people will know it. He said that it cannot be done secretly. Anil assured that the government will not do anything unconstitutional.
