Ahmed Shareef, the CEO of Fenaka the state company that provides electricity have said that their biggest achievement is ensuring round the clock electricity.
Shareef said that when President Yameen assumed office in 2013 90 percent of the islands in Maldives did not get electricity for 24 hours. He said that the islands that received electricity faced many great hardships as well.
Shareef said that, one of the biggest priority of the government was to provide electricity to all islands and now the government provides 24-hour electricity to all the islands in Maldives.
Shareef said that, even now Fenaka is undertaking many projects. He highlighted ongoing projects like renewing electric cables, and relocating powerhouses. Government allocated a loan of 150 Rufiyaa for Fenaka to conduct their projects.
Fenaka faced a huge loss this year. One is the burning down of the power house in Thinadhoo, and losing 1.7 million MVR to a fraudulent cheque.
