Managing Director of STO Ahmed Shaheer have said that the economy of Maldives will expand rapidly when the health sector is developed.
He made this statement while speaking at the ceremony held last night at Alimas Carnival to celebrate the achievements of President Yameen’s administration in the last three years.
He said that due to lack of proper medical services, a lot of Maldivians travel abroad to obtain health care and this leads to outflow of millions of dollars from the country annually. He said that all the governments talk about this but the current administration is the first government who attended this problem.
“Health sector is going towards revolutionary changes. President is introducing quality services” said Shaheer. Shaheer said that even the private sector is investing in health sector in addition to the government. He said that this will help to retain the foreign currency in the country and thus benefit the economy.
Shaheer further said that this government has started imported projects and has the capacity to complete these projects. He requested the people to give President Yameen the time to complete these beneficial projects.
