Instable countries are failing and stable countries are ‘flying’ : Vice President Jihaad

Vice President Abdullah Jihaad have said that, instable countries are failing and stable countries are developing. He said this while speaking at a ceremony held at GA.Villigili this morning to celebrate national day.

He said that countries with natural resources and large populations are failing due to lack of stability. He said that stable countries are becoming rich and prosper.

Jihaad said that when Maldives attained independence in 1965 the population was not even one hundred thousand, but because the country was stable it developed rapidly.

“Till 2000 Maldives was developing rapidly. Starting from then the country became politically unstable. Developmental works stopped. The attention of the country was diverted to other things” said Jihaad.

Jihaad said that at last, under this administration the country has attained stability and hence the country is developing at a fast rate. He said that mega developmental projects are now going on.

In his speech, Vice President talked about various national heroes and asked the stories of these heroes to be taught in schools.
