Civil Court orders to delay the local council elections for 2 months
Civil Court has ordered to postpone the local council elections after PPM filed a case to the Civil Court requesting to postpone the elections.

Civil Court made this verdict while lawyers of the opposition were saying that it cannot be done. Also they have said that this verdict could create legal precedent that would affect future elections.

PPM said that when they moved computers and other accessories from the old office to the new office, they lost many things including party membership database. Also many of the computer’s had their hard disks wiped clean and hence PPM requested more time to prepare for the elections.

Opposition lawyers have said that internal problems of the parties should be solved on their own and that is not a reason to delay the elections.
