Imaam of Islamic Center has warned about the dangers of giving and receiving bribes. Imaas said that offering bribes harms the greater good of the society and because of that the country is being harmed various ways. He made this statement while delivering the Friday sermon yesterday.
Imaam said that while some people are unjustly gaining advantages, others do not get what is rightfully theirs. He said while some people’s cases finish in court within a day, other people have to wait for a long time. “ All these things will plunge the society into chaos. This will halt the development of the country as well” said the Imaam.
Imaam said that food and tea offered to do something against the regulations can be considered as bribes. “Using you position to gain unfair advantages is corruption. Acting in a way that will prevent the state from getting due benefits is also corruption. Contracting government projects in a way that will benefit one’s self is also corruption” said the Imaam.
He also highlighted various other acts that can be classified as grand corruption and asked everyone to refrain from such acts.
