Government to talk with local market owners to solve the problems of immigrants working at the market !

Government has decided to talk with local market owners, to solve the problems of immigrants working at local market.

Speaking to Miadhu News, the Deputy Economic Minister Abdullah Muhammad said that the government provides work visa to foreigners not to let them work wherever they want. He said that they government does not give foreigners the permission to work at local markets.

Abdullah said that a lot of Maldivians has been complaining because foreigners sell their own products at these markets.

“That’s why we have decided to solve this problem by talking with the Maldivians who rent the market plots. We will meet with them on 6thof this month at Iskandar School hall” said Abdullah.

Around 100,000 foreigners work in Maldives without valid work visas and 99 percent of them are from Bangladesh.
