Elections Commission has appealed the Civil Court order to delay local council elections at High Court.
Ahmed Akram, a member of EC said that even though Civil Court ordered to delay the elections, EC is preparing to conduct the elections.
PPM’s President, MDP and Adhalath party has expressed concerns over the Civil Court order to delay the elections.
Opposition are saying that, Maldives is not facing any situations that can delay the elections. They are saying that there is no legal mandate to delay the elections.
