199 people leaves to Umra with Maldivian
199 people from Maldives have left for Umra with Maldivian. Their trip was delayed because they could not get visa due to a technical issue. The remaining people will leave for Umra via Qatar airlines tomorrow.

Islamic Minister Dr.Ahmed Ziyad Baqir said that some medias spread false news saying that some people did not get visa. He said that there was a problem with the online visa issuing system and hence, the process was delayed.

Dr.Ziyad said that if something like that happened in the past, these people would not have been able to go to Umra, but due to the prioritization give to solve this problem by the President, the issue was solved swiftly. He also said that this issue was solved because of the attention given to the matter by Saudi Embassy and the ambassador and necessary authorities. Also, he noted the work done by Maldivian. Dr.Ziyad thanked everyone who was involved in solving this problem.

MD of Maldivian Mr. Haris said that this shows the importance of having a national airline and developing the national airline. Haris said that they will continue to further develop the airline.
