Will issue permission to provide helicopter services in Maldives soon : Zameer
Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer have said that soon, the government will issue permission to provide helicopter services in Maldives.
He announced this at a ceremony held tonight at Dharubaaruge to mark the international civil aviation day. He said that there is a huge potential in providing this service to Maldivians and the government is getting many good proposals.
“We will give permission after checking all the factors. If everything goes well we will issue the permission very soon. Even MNDF is providing helicopter services really well” said Zameer.
Moosa Zameer said that Maldives always prioritize safety in matters related to civil aviation. He said that the results of these safety measures can be seen now. He further said that the government will invest in civil aviation infrastructure. He said that when the sector gets developed more jobs will be created.
Moosa Zameer noted that while Ibrahim Nasir International Airport is being developed, Gan International Airport has also been developed lately. Also he said that regional airports are being upgraded and new airports are being constructed around the Maldives.
“Even now we have 4 international airports. Hence airports are being developed” said Zameer. He said that even though the infrastructure is highly developed the sector will develop with strategic planning. He said that the civil aviation industry is progressing right now because of the plans implemented by President Yameen.
