Secretory General of PPM Dr.Abdullah Khaleel have said that, he is sure that the court will provide PPM candidates the chance to submit application form to contest in the local council elections.
Speaking to the press Dr.Khaleel said that PPM is the largest political party in the Maldives and the court will not undermine the rights of so many people.
The VP of PPM Abdullah Abdu Raheem said that they have not yet submitted forms of any PPM candidates. He said that they have not submitted the forms because they still did not get any official documents of the party.
“How can we submit application forms without any document to verify that the members are PPM members. That’s why we went to court” said Abdu Raheem.
He said that primaries will be held in areas where it is needed. Meanwhile elections commission have said that they will not extend the period to submit application forms anymore.
