Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) emphasized greatly on honesty and trustworthiness. If we analyze his life, this is very evident.
We should not only be honest to our jobs and families. We should be truthful to Allah as well. The person who is truthful to Allah will be truthful to everyone else. That is because being truthful is something Allah has ordered all Muslims.
One of the greatness sickness in the society today is corruption. Corruption is widespread because people are no longer honest. Another sickness in the society is conflicts and wars. Wars start because people are not honest.
When the leaders of the countries are not honest, the people in general start to despise the leaders. Leaders want to retain their regimes forcefully. Every year various businesses face billions of dollars in loss. This is also because people involved in the transactions are not trust worthy and when cheating becomes the norm.
Major companies go bankrupt because of this. Even banks go bankrupt. With each of these events, thousands lose their jobs.
Another major issue in the world is AIDS. AIDS spread because people are not honest with each other. When wives cheat on husbands. As a result, the unborn baby catches the HIV virus. All of this is due to lack of trustworthiness in the society.
Even if we look at Maldives, things are at this level. One can wonder how many people in Maldives are trustworthy. As a result the condition of the society is deteriorating day by day.
When we remember the prophet, it is important to learn something from his life and reform our lives.
The Prophet emphasized on being honest and trustworthy !
