Cannot attain development by being with ‘apostate Hassan’ who plunged fisheries industry to the third place : Jameel Usman

MP for Gemanafushi Jameel Usmaan have said that the country cannot attain development by being with ‘apostate Hassan’ who plunged the fisheries industry to the third place when it was the 2nd biggest industry in Maldives.

Speaking at a ceremony held last night at Gemanafushi to mark the 36th Fishermen’s Day, Usman said that even today there is a group of people in Maldives like apostate Hassan who left the country and joined the Portuguese in Goa. Usman said that these Maldivians who left the country constantly try to prevent the fishermen from getting a good price for their fish products.

He said that those people who are involved in these evil acts are enemies of fishermen. He said that fishermen nor the country cannot be developed by supporting such people. Jameel Usman said that development and prosperity can be attained by supporting those who are facilitating the development of the fisheries industry. He said that the development brought to the industry by the government is self-evident.

“Fishermen of this island will not have to go far to get ice. The reality is that Gemanafushi has attained more development in the last three years than the previous 40 years” said Jameel Usman.
