STO has donated dustbins which can be used to separate waste, to Environment Ministry.
In a ceremony held at the head office of STO, this morning to donate the dustbins the MD of STO Ahmed Shaheer said that this is a pilot project and based on the feedback they will donate more dustbins.
He said that these dustbins are to be use indoors and they are now designing dustbins that can be kept in public places.
Speaking at the ceremony, Environment Minister Thariq Ibrahim said that STO assists the government even now in managing waste and solving environmental problems. He said that the dustbins donated by STO are designed very practically. “ We should separate waste. Even from the households. Recycling is something that should be done. It is financially beneficial as well. Also this is something that should be done to reduce the impact on the environment” said Thariq.
Thariq asked other companies to take STO as an example and to take lead in such endeavors. He also asked the public to assist in matters as keeping public areas clean and protecting the environment.
