Three interceptor crafts brought to Maldives
Three interceptor crafts have been brought to Maldives last night. These crafts were ordered by the Maldivian Coast Guard and the crafts will be used in marine operations by the coast guard.
The crafts were built by Solas Marine Lanka Private Limited. Last night, Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar, Commander of Coast Guard Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim and other senior officials of the coast guard inspected the crafts.
The crafts will be utilized in maintaining the security of Maldivian EEZ and also will be used in rescue operations. Defense Ministry signed the agreement with Solas Marine to build these crafts on February of this year.
Under this agreement, a total of 5 crafts were built and two of them were delivered last month. With the 3 crafts delivered last night, now the coast guard fleet has 5 crafts.
