MTCC has submitted proposals to develop airports in Kulhudhuhfushi, Faresmaathodaa, Funadhoo, Fainu and Felivaru after reclaiming land.
CEO of MTCC Ibrahim Ziyath said that they have submitted proposals to develop airports in these five islands. When MTCC receives the dredger early next year, land reclaiming projects can be carried out swiftly.
The government has allocated money in 2017 budget to develop airports in these islands. Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer said while tourism sector is going to be spread all over the Maldives ,the aim of the government is to develop airports that can be reached within 30 minutes from any island.
