Several people are complaining that, the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives is not concerned about the fact that many Maldivians are unable to get employed because immigrants are filling these jobs.
After a statement released by HRCM yesterday, some people who talked to Miadhu News said that because hundreds of foreigners work as cashiers and on safaris, Maldivians are unable to get these jobs. Hence, the rights of several families are violated because of this. “No authority allowed foreigners to work on those jobs.”
“HRCM is always worried about the rights of expat workers. They do not talk about the situation of the Maldivians. They don’t talk about the jobs that we have lost to foreigners” said someone who spoke to Miadhu on the condition of anonymity.
People are saying that because there are worrisome issues. There is no country in the world where foreigners can work however they like and without any work visas.
