United Nations have said that to attain sustainable development goals of UN it is important to get input from different people and by involving the citizens in general.
Speaking at a the ceremony held this morning to inaugurate a workshop at Environment Ministry UN resident coordinator in Maldives Shoko Noda said that many countries have formulated national plans to achieve the sustainable development goals of the UN. Also that these countries are consulting with the public to attain these goals.
“In Indonesia, they have made a website where people can give their ideas. One of their goals is empowering women. These things can be done by involving the public” said Shoko.
She said that even Maldives should make such plans and see how much the country is able to implement the plans. She assured that the UN will assist in attaining the sustainable development goals.
