Ooredoo have stated that they provide 4G services to 55 percent of the islands in Maldives and by January 15 they will expand their services to all the islands of Maldives.
Speaking to the press the Head of Sales of Ooredoo Hussain Niyaz said that they have finished installing the submarine cable and now they are performing some tests. “We are providing the services as we are testing. All the islands will get the service by 15th January.” Said Niyaz.
He said that it will take some more time to provide broadband services to all islands. “ The service can be provided when we have quality cables. So it will take some time. By mid-2017 we will start providing broad band services as well” said Niyaz
Niyaz said that broadband services within the islands will have the same speed as Male’.
