Political parties are at cross roads due to the uncertainty of the elections date. People are questioning whether the election will be held or not.
People are saying that, if Elections Commission accepted the verdict of the Civil Court and announced new dates, this problem would not have arisen. People are saying that EC will be fully aware of the outcomes even if they appeal the case.
Jumuhoory Party have said that a lot of people are still requesting to contest in the elections with JP ticket. They said that even though, they can only allow more people to run on JP platform depending on the decision of EC.
A lot of people has already applied to run as JP candidates. They said that the campaigns have not yet started because the formalities completed by the EC has still not been completed.
JP always works within the limits set by law. Hence, they want the local council elections to be held as stipulated by the law.
Meanwhile Civil Court has ordered to delay the elections for two months. EC initially appealed the case and later decided to withdraw it. The national advisory committee on elections advised to withdraw the case and to announce the date of elections.
