Commissioner of Police Ahmed Areef have said that while we celebrate national solidarity day, Maldivians should be determined to retain the pious characteristics of Maldivians.
In a message publicized by Police Media on the occasion of National Solidarity Day, Areef said that the motto of the day should be unity. He said that we should renew the spirit of having one religion, one language and one ethnicity.
He noted that even in historic times, Maldivians faced natural calamities. He said that the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami is the largest disaster faced by Maldivians in modern history. He said that today we are renewing the memories of that day. CP noted the unity and solidarity shown by Maldivians on that day.
He said that the unity of Maldivians always played a huge role whenever Maldives faced any danger. CP conveyed the greetings of the day to President and all the citizens of Maldives.
