Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed have said that the government has made records in terms of economy and the next step is developing the nation and attaining the goals set by the government.
The minister said that the GDP per capita of Maldives has increased from 6000 USD to 7800 USD and the next step is to work towards increasing it to 12,000 USD.
“ Even now work of 50 resorts are going on. That is around 3 billion Rufiyaa worth work, that is going on in the construction industry. In addition I billion dollar is being spent on the development of the airport. Which government has brought projects worth 4 billion dollars within years” said the minister.
The minister said that the main agenda of the government is to reform the economy and to make Maldives one of the richest countries in the world. He said that what the government needs is cooperation from the people to achieve this goal.
In addition, he said that the results of the last three years shows that the government is capable of achieving their goals.
