Ooredoo expands 4G+ Network to an additional 40 islands.
Ooredoo launches 4G+ to 40 newlocations across the Maldives,moving forward with its efforts to expand its 4G+ network to all local islands and resorts by 15th January 2017.

The company announced this exciting news at a special ceremony held at A.DhDhangethi, one of the islands which will now enjoy the high speed connectivity of Ooredoo’s 4G+ Network.

Ooredoo Maldives CEO, Vikram Sinha said: “Ooredoo’s nationwide 4G+ expansion is one of our key investments in the Maldives this year, as a gift to our communities across the country. We remain committed to supporting a digital Maldives, and are determined to provide local people and businesses with a strong and resilient network that supports their aspirations and development. We look forward to connecting the entire nation to high speed 4G+ connectivity by mid-January 2017”

With this upgrade, Ooredoo’s 4G+ network is now available in locations across Alif Alif, Alif Dhaalu, Baa, Dhaalu, Kaafu, Lhaviyani and Raa atoll. A full list of the new islands and resorts is available on the company website: ore.do/4Gplus

4G+ technology allows customers to take advantage of a faster and richer internet experience for data-intensive business applications, real-time video conferencing, accessing rich content and multimedia applications, multiple downloads of heavy files, seamless online streaming and high definition online gaming.

All Ooredoo customers will be able to use 4G+ network in available areas without any additional charges, provided that they have a 4G+ compatible phone and a 4G SIM card. To check whether a customer’s existing SIM card is 4G compatible, simply SMS “4G” to 5353. 4G SIM cards are easily available at Ooredoo Experience Centres and Business Partner Shops.
